Dr. Mark Oppenheim is passionate about oral and maxillofacial surgery and brings a patient-centered approach to his practice. From the time a patient steps into the office, Dr. Oppenheim is focused on providing the best experience possible for the patient and their family.
Originally from Upstate New York, Dr. Oppenheim earned his undergraduate degree in government and legal studies at Bowdoin College in Maine, where he was a member of the football and golf teams. He completed his dental training at Rutgers University in New Jersey. At Rutgers, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, reserved for the students at the top of their graduating class.
Dr. Oppenheim subsequently completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at The University of Louisville, where he obtained a medical degree and completed an internship in general surgery. Dr. Oppenheim’s training in residency included experience in complex dental implant cases, anesthesia, facial trauma and reconstruction, maxillofacial pathology, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, cleft and craniofacial surgery, and facial cosmetics.
Dr. Oppenheim’s surgical interests include dental implants, bone and soft tissue grafting, corrective jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma surgery, and the application of dental and surgical technology.
Dr. Oppenheim holds privileges at St. David’s and Advent Health, and is a consulting surgeon at Baylor Scott & White. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Medical Association, the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Oppenheim is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Outside of the office, Dr. Oppenheim enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, an Active-Duty Army General Dentist at Ft. Cavazos, and their three-year-old son, Remington. Dr. Oppenheim enjoys skiing, tennis, playing guitar, and traveling.
